*Supriya Pathak leaves a lump in your throat as the mom who tries so hard to fit into her son’s life, especially her attempts at English, which Sid dismisses contemptuously
*Anupam Kher, as usual excels, as the worried father who finally has to act tough to din some sense into his spoilt son
*That likability factor which were Rishi & Neetu’s USP’s, they’ve handed it down to their jigar ka tukda, Ranbir – despite the fact that he plays an obnoxious character, you are well disposed towards this dopey, slightly daft, but good looking guy. Advice to Kapoor jr would be to lose the dazed retarded look which he seems rather attached to!
*AND Konkona Sen who never lets u down – shez played this kind of a role so many times, but yet lends it freshness & makes it real & believable – having lost oodles of weight, there’s less of her, but more to love!
*the ambience – this cozy flat which reminds everyone of their pehla pehla ghar
*the Mumbai Beat office which looks like something out of an archies comic!
*some new chehras – the cute, fat sensible gal pal, the bachpan ka yaar, ‘munney ki maa’ next door …
*FINALLY, the acid test which the director passes with flying colors – he got us to like ……………………. Believe it or not ………………………………………
